Mobile phones put your sperm on hold

Some men see them as a status symbol, but research has found mobile phones could be destroying that other badge of masculinity – fertility. Men who spent hours talking on their mobile phone had significantly lower sperm counts than usual, according to a study presented at the American Society for Reproductive Medicine conference.

Ashok Agarwal, from the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio in the US, examined 364 male fertility patients and found heavy mobile phone use led to men producing fewer and poorer-quality sperm. “There was a significant decrease in the most important measures of sperm health,” Dr Agarwal said. “People use mobile phones without thinking what the consequences may be. It’s just like using a toothbrush – but mobiles could be having a devastating effect on fertility.” Continue reading ‘Mobile phones put your sperm on hold’

Mozilla Firefox 2.0

Better late than never (my post): the final version of Mozilla Firefox 2.0 is out! Spread Firefox coordinator Asa Dotzler commented on the release in his blog:

“Two years ago an amazing community of Firefox contributors set the world on fire (and not in that Sony battery way) with the release of Firefox 1.0. One year ago, when we came together and pushed Firefox 1.5 into the mainstream, proving that we were a force to be reckoned with. Today, with the release if Firefox 2, we’re setting a new standard for user safety, control, and fun on the Web.” Continue reading ‘Mozilla Firefox 2.0′

Music: Vitalic @ Rock Werchter 2006

Vitalic, one of the most talented techno artists from France, is high on my list :-) We saw him live at Rock Werchter this year, but since the venue was packed and my friends were redefining the meaning of the word ‘drunk’ … we stood outside during the whole show. But he sure trashed the place! And now is your chance to revive it: Vitalic live @ Rock Werchter 2006! At the end, starting at minute 38, the roof goes off: he plays his track “no fun” with an extra bassline added, and mixes that with “the sound of c” :-)
