So I don’t login to Facebook.com every day. Maybe once a week to check up on what certain people are up to. And every week it’s the same: invitations for all kinds of stupid things. A What dictator are yo invitation, a Poker- Help a friend invitation, a Flirtable invitation (from a straight guy), a How Wild Are You? invitation, a Friends for Sale invitation, a FunWall Friend request, a What fruit are you? invitation, a You’re a Hottie request (from another straight guy). Aargh. I don’t have the time for all this. And even if I did have the time, I wouldn’t spend it on this. So, I’m ignoring all requests except for friend requests. Not because I don’t like you, just because I don’t want to be your hottie, Jan.

What would I do without a great ftp program like FileZilla? Many wonderful things … But for ftp’ing, FileZilla is all I need. I don’t report every new version that is released, because there’s now an automatic update function in the 3.x series. FileZilla is powerful Open Source FTP/SFTP client with many features. It includes a site manager to store all your connection details and logins as well as an Explorer style interface that shows the local and remote folders and can be customized independently. The program offers support for firewalls and proxy connections as well as SSL and Kerberos GSS security. I really thought I had lost all of my personal data that I’ve been saving up since I first started using personal computers some 15+ years ago. Not that I had much files of great importance at that time. Everything was on a dead 500 gb Seagate hard drive, and I had a backup of my stuff on a 500 gb external hard drive. The funny thing about all this was that I accidentally deleted the backup on the external drive … prior to the Seagate internal drive ending up dead. I couldn’t get the Seagate disk to boot. Sometimes it started to spin when put under power, most of the time it didn’t. So the only solution was to find a program that could recover my deleted files on the external drive.
