This is from the people over at Annoyances.org. Windows Vista has a bug that prevents it from choosing the correct view for a folder based on its contents, which is why you may see thumbnails when they’re not appropriate, and no thumbnails when they’re needed. The following patch stops Vista from trying to guess how to display a folder, instead forcing it to use the template of your choice. I can recommend this myself. More information here.

Highly recommended!

For all kinds of subscriptions to mailings lists, newsletters and such, I still use my old @hotmail.com mail address, besides my Gmail and my @zzillezz.net addresses. I’ve noticed that Microsoft has started to deploy their new look to certain accounts, but mine hasn’t changed as of yet. From what I’ve seen, it’s an improvement. And it’s actually faster, less cluttered and easier to read. Just as they said it would be! And coming from Microsoft, that’s errr, weird.
