This has been released for a while, but I didn’t post about it yet. InfraRecorder is a free CD/DVD burning solution for Microsoft Windows. It offers a wide range of powerful features; all through an easy to use application interface and Windows Explorer integration. InfraRecorder is released under GPL version 3, free and open source. Highly recommended!
If you want to remove the ‘Send Feedback’ link in every toolbar in the recently released Windows 7 beta 1, here’s what you need to do:
Copy and paste this into Notepad:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop]
“FeedbackToolEnabled”=dword:00000000
Save the file as remove_send_feedback_link.reg.
Double click on it to merge it into the registry. Confirm any UAC prompts.
Reboot. Done!

This x64 edition of Linux Mint 6 is almost identical to the Main Edition but compiled for 64 bit processors (Intel Core 2 Duo, Intel Core 2 Quad, AMD Athlon X2 64 and all x86-64 compliant processors). It comes with all the improvements featured in Linux Mint 6 Main Edition.
There are a few differences however:
* java is using openjdk instead of sun
* openoffice.org-base is absent

I’ve noticed this thread on the Pidgin mailing list, about Pidgin 2.5.3 crashing on exit. I’m having the same problem on two totally different computers (one XP, one Vista) with a default Pidgin install and no extra plugins. All I’m connected to is MSN and one IRC server. Since Linux Mint 6 is still using 2.5.2 I can’t say if the problem occurs in the Linux version of 2.5.3 too.
Soulseek is a unique ad-free, spyware free, and just plain free file sharing application. One of the things that makes Soulseek unique is the community-related features. Based on peer-to-peer technology, virtual rooms allow you to meet people with the same interests, share information, and chat freely using real-time messages in public or private. Soulseek, with its built-in people matching system, is a great way to make new friends and expand your mind! This version isn’t official yet, the author posted the link in the Soulseek forum. These where Nir’s words: “The upcoming client already saves most resize settings. This includes the main window size, most window separator positions and column sizes. This version also allows room-specific appearance settings (font and colors) from the room’s context menu. A lot of new UI code was added so problems are possible. If/once everyone is happy with this update i’ll release it.”
One of the tools I can’t do without: 7-Zip, the free file archiver / extractor. 7-Zip is a file archiver with a high compression ratio. The program supports 7z, ZIP, CAB, RAR, ARJ, LZH, CHM, GZIP, BZIP2, Z, TAR, CPIO, RPM and DEB formats. Compression ratio in the new 7z format is 30-50% better than ratio in ZIP format. It also compresses to ZIP 2-10% better than PKZip and WinZip. It has an additional powerful command line version and FAR Manager support.
