It connects to the new Facebook Chat IM service without the need for an API key. Currently the plugin can log into the Facebook servers, grab the buddy list, send/receive messages, add/remove friends, receive notifications, search for Facebook friends and set your Facebook status. Meebo has also used this to provide Facebook connectivity on their online messenger.

Maybe once a week to check up on what certain people are up to. And every week it’s the same: invitations for all kinds of stupid things. A What dictator are yo invitation, a Poker- Help a friend invitation, a Flirtable invitation (from a straight guy), a How Wild Are You? invitation, a Friends for Sale invitation, a FunWall Friend request, a What fruit are you? invitation, a You’re a Hottie request (from another straight guy). Aargh. I don’t have the time for all this. And even if I did have the time, I wouldn’t spend it on this. So, I’m ignoring all requests except for friend requests. Not because I don’t like you, just because I don’t want to be your hottie, Jan.
